Step two

STEP 2: Find a volunteer opportunity.

How can Volunteer Centre Camden help?

  • Volunteer Centre Camden has details of hundreds of local volunteering opportunities. We offer a number of ways to help you find one in your area of interest, at a time that suits you.
  • You could log on to our website www.volunteercentrecamden.org.uk, register yourself as a volunteer and use our online database to begin your search.   To start the online search, go to Do-it Search.
  • You could drop-in during our opening hours at our place in Kentish Town. Don’t worry if you’re not confident with computers, there will be a volunteering assistant on hand to help you. We are open Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2pm-4pm and the first Thursday of every month, 12pm-7pm.  Please click here for how to find Volunteer Centre Camden.
  • You could book a one-to-one confidential appointment with one of our team at the Centre who will help you decide what you would like to do and answer any questions you may have about volunteering. We offer appointments on Wednesday afternoons at 2pm, 2.45pm and 3.30pm and most Friday mornings 10am, 11am and 12pm. If you are not able to attend these times, please let us know and we will try to accommodate you.

Please contact us to book an appointment.

  • You could attend an outreach session, which are held at a various locations within the Borough of Camden. (Please click here for an up-to-date list of sessions and events we will be attending. )
  • If you are unable to come to the Centre, you could send us an email to info@volunteercentrecamden.org.uk or give us a ring on 020 7424 9990. Let us know your area of interest, when you would like to volunteer and the type of volunteering you would like to get involved in; we’ll do a search on your behalf and send you some opportunities via email or post.
  • If you are affected by mental health issues and would like some extra support in volunteering (such as finding opportunities, contacting organisations, completing application forms, attending interviews etc.) then the Hands On! project may be for you.

If you would like to find out more about this project, please contact our Hands On! Project Coordinator, Diana Young, on 020 7424 9990 or diana@volunteercentrecamden.org.uk.

Please contact us if you would like more information on any of these services, to make an appointment or to find out details of our current timetable of Services for Volunteers.
