Step by step guide to becoming a volunteer

The way Volunteer Centre Camden works: 

• Volunteer Centre Camden provides information and support for people who are interested in volunteering.
• We do not select or interview volunteers. All appointments, open sessions or outreach events are informal. They are a chance for you to get a better idea about what voluntary work is available locally.
• We give you details of the volunteering opportunity that you want; you then contact the organisation and follow it up for yourself. We would advise you to contact the organisation preferably by phone; they will be able to tell you what happens next.

Please be patient. Volunteering coordinators are likely to be part-time staff or volunteers themselves. If (after a reasonable amount of time) you do have trouble getting in touch with an organisation, let us know and we will try to contact them on your behalf.

If you don’t feel confident enough to contact organisations directly, please contact us to arrange a one-to-one appointment. We will do our best to help you.
