Services for member organisations
Promoting your volunteering opportunities
We offer a brokerage service for people wanting to volunteer. We give them the information that you provide about your volunteering opportunities. These opportunities are made available to people who want to volunteer through:
- Volunteer Centre Camden website http://www.volunteercentrecamden.org.uk/
- National Do-it website http://www.do-it.org.uk/
- BBC's TimeBank campaign
- Clients coming to the centre in person
- Outreach sessions and events where we take our services out into the local community
- Local libraries, job centres and other organisations we are able to develop links with
Please note: Our member organisations select their own volunteers. VCC provides information about volunteering opportunities to anyone who requests information about volunteering in Camden. It is therefore up to our members to make sure that applicants are suitable for the roles advertised.
If you need guidance or support in recruiting and selecting volunteers, then please contact our Best Practice Coordinator, Jack Wratten via email jack@volunteercentrecamden.org.uk or phone 020 7424 9990
Training
We offer training in different aspects of volunteer management. Courses are available to members and non members. Click here to find out more about the training courses.
Mind the Gap
Mind the Gap is a tailor made guidance service to fill the gaps in how you involve volunteers in your organisation. These 1 to 1 sessions help your organisation to:
- find out new ways to involve volunteers
- plan oportunities from scratch
- make the existing opportunities more appealing to volunteers
Volunteer Coordinators Forum and Information Workshops
The forums are open to all volunteer involving organisations that are members of VCC. Use the forums to:
- Meet other people working in Camden facing similar challenges and issues
- Get up to date with the latest volunteering developments
- Find out more about VCC services and how you can access them
- Focus on specific volunteering issues through regular information workshops
Start-up sessions
These sessions are specifically for Volunteer Coordinators new to Camden, or those interested in joining VCC. The session gives an overview of what VCC has to offer, how the brokerage service works, and takes a look at how you can make your volunteering opportunities sound more exciting to potential volunteers, to help you get more people interested in joining you! To book a session, please contact Sheila .
Website
Once our new website is complete, there will be a members' chat room, where you can talk live online to other Volunteer Coordinators and VCC staff.
