Camden Befriending
Camden Befriending is part of Camden Mental Health Day Services Consortium. It provides befrienders for 6 months to isolated Camden residents with mental health issues. They will decide together what activities to do, for example, going for a walk, to a cafe, visit an exhibition and much more. Some people may just need the company and be happy to meet and chat. Others find it difficult to leave their homes and can be visited at home with a view to going out. There are two referral forms. The Day Service referral form is for service users from Holy Cross Centre Trust, Mind in Camden and the Highgate Centre only. The Non-day Service referral form is for all other service users. For more information, please contact Diana.
Best Practice Support for Volunteer Involving Organisations
We have a full-time Best Practice Manager (Jack Wratten) funded by City Bridge Trust who is available to offer information, training, 1:1 coaching, ideas and support to your organisation when needed.
The Best Practice Manager can come for a 1:1 meeting with you in your organisation and will work through the Greater London Volunteering Health Check for your volunteer involvement so that each area of volunteer involvement can be discussed. Paperwork, policies, templates, guides and good example can all be provided by out Best Practice Service, so if you need some help or just want to discuss an idea, please get in touch.
Sports Volunteering
Almost two million people in the UK volunteer in sport for at least an hour each week . Despite the value volunteers bring to sport , many sports groups and clubs do not think of their work as volunteering, it's more about helping out and getting involved.
Volunteer Centre Camden is committed to help more volunteers work with sports clubs and groups. If you want to volunteer with a sports group you can find out more about the opportunities we have by registering with our brokerage service. If you are a sports group and would like to find out how to get more people involved, please click here.

Employer Supported Volunteering
Employers can play an important role in our local community by supporting and encouraging their staff to volunteer. Volunteer Centre Camden offers voluntary, community, statutory and private sector organisations based in Camden a free consultation to help look at different models of employee volunteering and help identify which ones best meet the needs of your organisation. To find out more, go to I want my staff to volunteer, or send us an enquiry form.
